We checked on our boat and spent a night on the Bay, where I have feasted on blue crabs! SV Wild is doing fine, and I devoured eight blue crabs in the past 24 hours. Butter, crabmeat, and Old Bay – mmmm.

Today we went to the Maryland Renaissance Festival!

It’s been ages since I’ve been, and I absolutely loved going with my family this year.  Fitting that it was their “Pirate Weekend” during our  visit. I grabbed the most “pirate-y” looking clothes from the boat, and I convinced Eric he dressed as a “modern day sailor” by wearing his everyday boat clothes – including a hat he salvaged from a beach in the Bahamas.

I enjoyed people watching – the costumes! And after watching the silk aerialist performance I really want to get a silk set up for the boat, seems like it would be so much fun, great exercise, and the right amount of scary to practice over the water.

The Festival wares also encouraged me to be more creative, we’ll see what I create back on the boat!

Our road trip is not over! Today we drove down to North Carolina to check out a boat we briefly considered “hermit crabbing” into. We both really liked the layout of this boat, however the amount of work needed to fix this boat was more than we were willing to do.

We enjoyed exploring Wilmington, NC and if you’re ever driving through, I highly recommend stopping by Waterline Brewery – delicious! Especially their gose. Cheers!

I’ve completed 8 of 9 boat cushions! One more to go, and then we can sail away.
